SCHOOL-BASED HEALTH CENTERS IN MISSISSIPPI

In school year 1999/2000 Mississippi reported 32 school-based health centers, an increase of 19 over two years. Twenty-eight of the centers are in urban areas; four are in rural communities. Mississippi directs no state funds to centers. School-based health centers are eligible to receive Medicaid and CHIP payment for services and some contracts with managed care plans.
