SCHOOL-BASED HEALTH CENTERS IN MINNESOTA

In the school year1999/2000 there were 20 operating centers in the state, an increase of 3 centers in the past two years.The majority of the centers (19) are located in urban areas. Most of the school-based health centers in Minnesota operate with limited state support. They do receive partial funding from the Title V Maternal and Child Health Block Grant. Additionally, Minneapolis and St. Paul centers bill Medicaid. Most of the centers (15) operate in high schools.
