February 8, 2002 - Advisory Committee Updates Recommendations on Immunization Practices

A report published by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices updates 1994 immunization recommendations to provide technical guidance for health care providers who administer vaccines to children, adolescents, and adults. The new recommendations change and expand the 1994 version with respect to topics including vaccination timing, contraindications and precautions, needle-free injection technology, vaccination of children adopted from countries outside the United States, and tuberculosis screening. The report also includes a directory of immunization resources.
