February 15, 2002 - State EPSDT Data Available Online

Charts on EPSDT data state by state have now been posted on NHeLP's website at http://www.healthlaw.org/pubs/child1998healthxsum.html . As part of Medicaid's EPSDT (Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnosis and Treatment) program, each state must report to the federal government the state's efforts to ensure that eligible children receive the preventive services provided through EPSDT. In 1998, the National Health Law Program published a chart book that included information on state EPSDT data for fiscal years 1994-1996. The 2001 addendum to the chartbook presents Form-416 data from federal fiscal years 1997 and 1998. It does not replace the 1994-1996 chartbook, but rather supplements it with more recent information.
