Through the expanded mental health program, a psychiatric nurse specialist and a child psychiatrist will be added to the Lynn Community Health Center's (LCHC) school based health center staffing configuration. The new psychiatric team will be based at Marshall Middle School where a full range of mental health services will be available to Marshall's students. Through a model of case consultation and referral, these services will be extended to the other SBHCs in Lynn. This model will afford LCHC the opportunity to document the impact of expanded psychiatric services within one SBHC, with future replication in mind, while extending the benefits of the psychiatric team's expertise system-wide.

The expansion of the mental health component at the Marshall Middle SBHC will enable LCHC to accomplish three key goals:

• Alleviate the mental health problems of a greater number of Marshall Middle School students through the provision of comprehensive mental health services at the SBHC and through a model of case consultation and referral at other SBHCs.
• Create a more positive, safe school environment for Marshall Middle School students through greater collaboration of SBHC mental health personnel with school personnel on the development and implementation of relevant programs and initiatives.
• Enhance the mental health services provided through all SBHCs in Lynn by leveraging the insights of the psychiatric specialists.
