Healthy People 2020. Susan Wooley, Executive Director of the American School Health Association, asks readers to comment on the Healthy People objectives and make sure school-related objectives remain in the Health People 2020 document. These objectives play a critical role in influencing the direction of federal grant dollars.: "The proposed Healthy People 2020 objectives include a number that relate to schools.  If those proposed objectives receive no comments, they might well disappear. That could have funding and resources implications for the next 10 years! If you work with high school or college students, you might make this an assignment. Please take the time to review and comment on the objectives that address school aged children and youth – and school programs.  Begin with the section Educational and Community-Based Programs.  Also review either the Adolescent Health or Early and Middle Childhood Health sections."
Other sections that you might want to review include:
Environmental Health
Family Planning
Health Communication and Health IT
Hearing and Other Sensory or Communication Disorders
HIV
