The archive of our webinar presentation “Promising Models for Funding and Sustaining School Mental Health Services to Immigrant and Refugee Families” held May 20, 2010 is now available. Presenters Mark Sander, Grace Valenzuela and Audrey Tucker will be posting responses to questions posed during the webinar to our Center for Health and Health Care in Schools blog. We look forward to responding to your thoughts and commentary on their presentations.
Caring Across Communities (CAC), a program of the Center for Health and Health Care in Schools, is featured in a new video from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. The 15 participating CAC grantees developed community partnerships that supported school-based mental health programming for students, parents, and teachers.
Supporting Immigrant & Refugee Communities (SIRC) Listserv is now active! The listserv provides an opportunity to pose questions to the field, share information, and network with colleagues nationwide. Robert Wood Johnson Foundation – Active Living Grants (Deadline: 7/1/11)
The Active Living Grant program aims to support research to inform policies and environmental strategies to increase physical activity among children and adolescents. The program places emphasis on children and youth between the ages of 3 and 18 most at risk for obesity, including low income and minority children. The program is calling for proposals for opportunistic, time-sensitive studies on emerging or anticipated changes in physical activity related policies or environment.
Department of Health and Human Services – Pregnant and Parenting Teens and Women Grants (Deadline: 8/2/10)
The purpose of this grant is to develop and implement programs to assist pregnant and parenting teens and women. Proposals may include services for pregnant students through universities, high schools, and community centers. Funds may also be used to create programs for pregnant teens and women suffering from domestic violence, sexual assault, and sexual violence.
Department of Health and Human Services - Family Violence Prevention and Services (Deadline: 7/30/10)
The purpose of the funding is to expand and enhance local services for children exposed to domestic violence. Grantees will improve, expand or enhance services provided in a specific location. They will also help to create and provide peer to peer technical assistance and a national dissemination plan.
