US Department of Agriculture – Team Nutrition Training Grants
The US Department of Agriculture Team Nutrition Training Grants seek to expand and enhance state agency training programs that incorporate and implement the 2005 dietary guidelines for Americans served under the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and the School Breakfast Program (SBP). Applicants must incorporate Team Nutrition’s three behavior-focused strategies in their proposals. These include providing training and technical assistance to school nutrition food service professionals so that they can prepare and serve nutritious meals that appeal to students; providing fun and interactive nutrition education to children, parents, teachers, and other care givers; and building school and community support for creating healthy school environments.
Up to $5.5 million is available for grants up to $350,000. Any state agency that administers the NSLP or SBP is eligible to apply.
Deadline: March 26, 2010 (Letter of intent)
