National Institutes of Health and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention – School Nutrition and Physical Activity Policies, Obesogenic Behaviors and Weight Outcomes Research Grant

The purpose of the grant is to fund research that fosters multidisciplinary research that will evaluate how policies can influence school physical activity and nutrition environments, youths obesogenic behaviors, and weight outcomes; understand how schools are implementing these policies and examine multi-level influences on adoption and implementation at various levels; and understand the synergistic or counteractive effect of school nutrition and physical activity polices on the home and community environment and body weight.

Award amounts vary. Eligible organizations include, but are not limited to: state, county, or city governments; independent school districts; nonprofit organizations; and Native American tribal organizations.

Deadline: January 7, 2013
