Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation - Grand Challenges Exploration Grant

The Grand Challenges Exploration Grant is aimed at encouraging bold and unconventional global health solutions. Grand Challenges Exploration is an initiative that is focused on encouraging innovation in global health research. The $100 million, five-year initiative is funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. 

Approximately 60 Phase I grants will be awarded for $100,000. Phase I projects that show promise in the first year will be eligible for continued funding. The grant program is open to anyone from any discipline, from student to tenured professor, and from any organization – colleges and universities, government laboratories, research institutions, non-profit organizations and for-profit companies.
