Children of Immigrant and Refugees: What the research tells us
(Updated May 2011) What is the research telling us about the children of immigrant and refugee students in our schools? Learn about it in this updated and just released fact sheet “Children of Immigrant and Refugee: What the research tells us”. This fact sheet provides a guide to school and mental health professionals on how to build and foster a culturally competent and accessible school community that can lead to immigrant and refugee student success. It includes information on the impact of language and culture on mental health service delivery in schools, the impact on access to care and includes a list additional resources and information.
