Child Health USA 2008-2009, by the US Department of Health and Human Services Health Resources and Services Administration, is an annual report on the health status and service needs of America’s children.

The National Association of School Nurses recently published the 2009 H1N1 Influenza Vaccine Frequently Asked Questions brochure to answer common questions about the benefits and minimal risks of being protected against seasonal and H1N1 influenza with both vaccines.

Children's Exposure to Violence: A Comprehensive National Survey, by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, surveyed more than 4,500 children or their parents or adult caregivers regarding their exposure to violence and its implications.

Covering Immigrant Children: Where do we stand? Center for Children and Families Health Policy Institute. Georgetown University, Washington, DC. April 2009.

This presentation, by Joan Alker, Co-Executive Director of the Center for Children and Families Health Policy Institute, reviews current and anticipated efforts to provide coverage through the federal Medicaid program for children with a focus on immigrant children. Ms. Alker presents information on the changes in coverage under the newly authorized Children's Health Insurance Reauthorization Act (CHIPRA), the Immigrant Children's Health Improvement Act (ICHIA), state level response to covering immigrant children based on these two new pieces of legislation and discusses how CHIPRA and ICHIA could affect health care coverage for legal immigrant children in the future.

The brochure answers questions about how to stay healthy, whether to get vaccinated and how serious the flu is.

Children's Exposure to Violence: A Comprehensive National Survey,  by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, surveyed more than 4,500 children or their parents or adult caregivers regarding their exposure to violence and its implications. The study discusses the survey’s findings regarding children’s direct and indirect exposure to specific categories of violence, how exposure to violence changes as children grow up, and the prevalence and incidence of multiple and cumulative exposures to violence.
