May 13, 2010
White House Task Force on Childhood Obesity Report to the President
On May 12, the White House Task Force on Childhood Obesity provided the president with a comprehensive plan to decrease childhood obesity within one generation. This report includes key bench-marks and an action plan to rollback the problem of childhood obesity. The plan focuses on the whole child and the environments where children live, learn, and play. Recommendations include upgraded school nutrition standards, increased physical activity, and emphasis on the important role the private sector has in supporting the movement.
