U.S. Department of Health and Human Services -- Family Planning Services Grants
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is accepting applications for its Family Planning Services Grants program. The purpose of the program is to establish and operate voluntary family planning services projects in 21 designated states (See Table I in grant description) that focus on the following: (1) programs to assure ongoing family planning and related preventive health services that will improve the overall health of individuals; (2) programs to assure access to a broad range of acceptable and effective family planning methods, infertility services, effective contraceptive methods, services for adolescents, and related preventive health services including STD and HIV prevention education and testing, abstinence education, and cancer screening and prevention, and (3) programs to encourage the participation of families, parents, and/or other adults in the decision of minors seeking family planning services.
Award amounts vary by state with approximately $81.1 million available for competing Title X family planning services grant awards in 21 states, populations, and/or areas (See Table I in grant description). Eligible applicants are public or nonprofit private entities located in the United States and its territories.
Deadline: Varies by state as indicated in the RFP (the earliest is September 1, 2007)
