U.S. Department of Health and Human Services -- Translational Research in Eating Disorders (R01)

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is accepting applications for its Translational Research in Eating Disorders (R01) grant program. The purpose of the program is to support projects that study the etiology and pathogenesis of eating disorders, particularly studies that involve: 1) behavioral, cognitive, developmental, and psychosocial aspects of eating disorders in youth and young adults; 2) nutrition, growth, and bone density; 3) preventive interventions and effective treatments in both subclinical and clinical populations of youth and young adults with eating disorders; and 4) the relationships between eating disorders and other health risk behaviors such as substance abuse, self-injurious behavior, and suicide.

Award amounts will vary by project; applicants must follow the NIH Research Project Grant (R01) award mechanism. Eligible applicants include, but are not limited to the following: public/state controlled or private institution of higher education, nonprofit organizations, small businesses, for-profit organizations, historically black colleges and universities, Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian serving institutions, and faith-based or community based organizations.
