Vermont Department of Education - Tobacco Use Prevention Grant (Vermont)
In an effort to reduce and prevent tobacco use among youth, non-competitive grant funding is available through the Vermont Department of Education. Funding supports schools in coordinating programs and implementing tobacco prevention strategies at the local level. Particular attention will be afforded to proposals that address coordination of tobacco prevention efforts, involvement of families and communities in supporting school-based tobacco prevention initiatives, provision of evidence-based prevention education and development and implementation of model tobacco policy.
Selected Local Education Agencies will receive a formula allotment of $8 per enrolled student based on prior year enrollment. A minimum award of $7,000 will fund smaller sites. Eligible applicants include Vermont supervisory unions/districts and independent schools.
Deadline: May 1, 2009
Please Note: The Center for Health and Health Care in Schools (CHHCS) does not administer this funding opportunity.
