The Foundation for Rural Education and Development -- Technology Grants for Rural Schools
The Foundation for Rural Education and Development created by the
Organization for the Promotion and Advancement of Small
Telecommunications Companies (OPASTCO) is accepting applications for
its Technology Grants for Rural Schools program. The purpose of the
program is to support innovative technology in the classroom and reduce
the technology divide by bringing computers to every classroom,
connecting schools to the information superhighway, and providing
software and online resources as an integral part of the school
curriculum. Award amounts are $1,000-$10,000. Eligible
applicants include any public K-12 school located within the service
area of an OPASTCO telephone company that has a letter of nomination
and support from the local telephone company.
Deadline: September 14, 2007
