U.S. Department of Health & Human Services Administration for Children and Families - Service Program Grants for Cuban/Haitian Refugees and Entrants

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is accepting grant applications from programs supporting communities with large concentrations of Cuban and Haitian entrants of varying ages whose cultural differences make assimilation especially difficult. Discretionary grant funds may be sought for any of the following five program categories: 1) employment services; 2) hospitals and other health and mental health care programs; 3) adult and vocational education services; 4) refugee crime or victimization programs; and 5) citizenship and naturalization preparation services.

Selected applicants will receive between $100,000-$18,000,000 per project period. Eligible applicants include programs focusing on Cuban and Haitian entrants and refugees, agencies of State governments that are responsible for the refugee program under 45 Code of Federal Regulations, and agencies that have statewide role as an alternative to the State-administered program.

Deadline: July 13, 2009

Please Note: The Center for Health and Health Care in Schools (CHHCS) does not administer this funding opportunity.
