Safe Routes to School (SRTS)

The National Center for Safe Routes to School works to enable children to reach school safely by walking and biking. The SRTS mini-grant program supports the goal of the organization and encourages parents, schools, community leaders and government officials to implement safe travel procedures for students.
Twenty-five mini-grants of $1,000 each will be awarded to selected applicants. Eligible applicants include adult-supervised elementary or middle school groups, faculty, staff or parent volunteers, local and tribal governments and nonprofit organizations that will work with a school to improve safety.
Deadline: October 19, 2011
