U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Refugee Resettlement – Refugee School Impact Grants
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Refugee Resettlement invites proposals for funds to support local school systems with a large number of newly arrived refugee children. The program focuses on newly arrived refugees that are making major initial adjustments and those that have been here for less than three years and continue to face persistent difficulties in school.
$15 million is available for multiple grants. Public and nonprofit agencies are eligible to apply. Proposals should document significant impact of newly arrived refugees, specify the use of the funding, and show that proposed activities are related to and beneficial for educating refugee children. Applicants are encouraged to submit proposals that involve collaboration with other programs serving refugees.
Deadline: May 17, 2010
