Pathways Out of Poverty (Washington DC Metro Area)

The Pathways Out of Poverty program is designed to help needy young people and adults gain a quality education. For projects serving youth, The Herb Block Foundation seeks proposals which focus on improving student achievement and healthy development of young people of middle school age and above. Projects may include in-school and community-based educational programs, after-school activities, and mentoring programs.

Awards between $5,000-$25,000 will be available. Eligible entities include nonprofit organizations with 501(c)(3) status that are located in the District of Columbia, the counties of Arlington, Fairfax, and the city of Alexandria in Virginia. Nonprofits in Montgomery and Prince George’s counties in Maryland are also eligible to apply.

Deadline: February 8, 2012 (Letter of Inquiry)
