Community Foundation for the National Capital Region - Neighbors in Need (Washington, DC)

The Neighbors in Need grant program seeks to address some of the pressing challenges facing the Washington DC area during the economic crisis.  Funding will focus on programs that assist low-income, disadvantaged children and adults meet basic needs for food, shelter, clothing, emergency financial assistance, and foreclosure prevention.  Priority is given to groups that experienced an increase in demand for services in the past two years.

Multiple awards of up to $25,000 are available.  Nonprofits classified as 501(c)(3) that provide direct services in the Washington, DC region are eligible to apply. 

Deadline: August 16, 2010
