National Healthy Child Care America Cooperative Agreement Program

The purpose of the National Resource Center for Health and Safety in Child Care Settings (NRC) cooperative agreement is to ensure quality in early care and education settings nationwide. The NRC assist providers who work with children of all abilities to access early care and education resources and reference material, maximize the use of the Standards and utilize technological to reach grantees, regulators, providers and parents. NRC seeks grant applicants to support a network of health care professionals responsible for strengthening linkages between pediatricians, and child care providers to ensure the provision of safe, healthy and developmentally appropriate early care and education for all children and to use the early care and education settings as a point of access to health insurance and medical homes.

NRC will grant up to $1,085,000.00 towards up to three awards averaging $340,000 each. Eligible applicants include public or private entities, including an Indian tribes or tribal organizations (as those terms are defined at 25 U.S.C. 450b). Applicants must have significant experience with child and adolescent health and safety at the national level. Applications that fail to show such experience will not receive further consideration.

Deadline: February 17, 2011 (Letter of Intent. Not required, but preferred). Official deadline is March 18, 2011.
