American Academy of Pediatrics - Julius B. Richmond Center New Investigator Awards Small Grants Program
The Julius B. Richmond Center New Investigator Awards Small Grants Program strives to stimulate involvement of pediatricians and child health researchers nationwide towards the development of innovative means of protecting children from exposure to secondhand tobacco smoke. The Center is funded by the Flight Attendant Medical Research Institute that sponsors research regarding early detection, prevention, treatment and cure of diseases and medical conditions due to tobacco smoke exposure.
Up to $12,000 will be available for fellow/junior faculty research related to children and exposure to secondhand smoke. Projects must be aligned with the goals of the Richmond Center. Preference will be given to projects that have potential to lead to future studies. The number of available awards is contingent upon available funds and the size of grant requests for research projects that are selected.
Eligibility includes not-for-profit institutions in the 50 States, Washington, D.C., and US territories for individual investigators. Investigators that are current recipients of any grant monies or in-kind donations from any tobacco manufacturer, distributor, or other tobacco-related entity will not be eligible.
Deadline: March 16, 2009
Please Note: The Center for Health and Health Care in Schools (CHHCS) does not administer this funding opportunity.
