U. S. Department of Education – Integration of Schools and Mental Health Systems Grants

The U.S. Department of Education wants to increase access to quality mental care by funding programs that integrate school systems with local mental health systems. The Integration of Schools and Mental Health Systems program supports organizations that improve or develop collaborative efforts between school-based service systems and mental health systems to increase prevention, diagnostic and treatment services provided to students. Organizations that train school personnel and/or mental health professionals or organizations that provide crisis intervention services are encouraged to apply.

Fifteen awards will be granted ranging from $150,000 to $400,000 with an average size of $325,000. Selected projects will be funded over a two-year period. Eligible applicants include state educational agencies, local educational agencies, and Indian tribes.

Deadline: February 23, 2009

Please Note: The Center for Health and Health Care in Schools (CHHCS) does not administer this funding opportunity.
