Funding for Studies on the Impact of Drinking on the Adolescent Brain

The purpose of this funding is to conduct a longitudinal study to research the effects of child and adolescent alcohol exposure on the developing human brain. Research will also address to what extent these effects persist, and potentially identify early markers that may predict alcohol abuse, dependence, and onset or worsening of mental illness during adolescence and/or adulthood.

One award of up to $500,000 will be granted. Eligible applicants include state, county, and city governments, school districts, institutions of higher education, and nonprofit organizations.
