BlueCross and BlueShield of Kansas Foundation’s Healthy Habits for Life is offering $150,000 in grants to aid schools that promote healthy lifestyle choices. The program, which aims to help schools address the pressing issue of childhood obesity, supports teachers and administrators who encourage healthy habits among their students. 
 


Grants will be awarded for up to $1,000 and can be used towards purchasing physical education equipment, wellness and nutritional curriculum materials, or other items reinforcing healthy living programs for the 2012 calendar year. School nurses, physical education instructors, and science teachers are encouraged to apply. 
 


Deadline: October 14, 2011
