Healthy Habits: Healthy Behaviors in Children and Adolescents

The purpose of this funding opportunity is to stimulate innovative research to identify mechanisms of influence and/or promote positive health behavior in children and youth (birth to age 18). Positive health behavior may include: practicing proper dental hygiene, eating a balanced and nutritious diet, engaging in age-appropriate physical activity and/or participating in healthy relationships. Applications to promote positive health behavior should target social and cultural factors, including, but not limited to: schools, families, communities, population, food industry, age-appropriate learning tools and games, social media, social networking, technology and mass media.
Awards of up to $275,000 will be available for a two-year period. Eligible organizations include higher education institutions, nonprofits with or without 501(c)(3) status, for-profit organizations, faith-based organizations and government entities.
