Healthy Eating Research: Building Evidence to Prevent Childhood Obesity

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) is striving to support research on environmental and policy strategies with strong potential to promote healthy eating among children to prevent childhood obesity, especially among lower-income and racial and ethnic populations at highest risk for obesity. Findings are expected to advance RWJF’s efforts to reverse the childhood obesity epidemic by 2015.  There are three types of awards: Round 6 grants, rapid-response grants and RWJF New Connections grants awarded through the Health Eating Research program.

Approximately 2.35 millions will be awarded under this call for proposals for the three award types. Eligible applicants are nonprofit & public organizations that are tax exempt under the 501(c)(3) Internal Revenue Code.

Deadline: Multiple: The full proposal deadline for Round 6 grants is March 10, 2011. Concept papers for rapid-response grants must be in by August 2, 2011 and for the RWJF New connections grants, concept papers are due March 10, 2011.
