Home Depot Foundation -- Healthy Community Trees Program
The Home Depot Foundation is accepting applications for its Healthy Community Trees Program to improve human health through the increase of strategic incorporation of trees into communities.
Preference is given to projects that result in community engagement that: 1) incorporate trees and landscape into the community development plans of neighborhoods as part of the infrastructure to control stormwater runoff, create a sense of place, and provide shaded recreational opportunities; 2) incorporate the strategic use of trees and landscape to reduce utility bills; and 3) Educate and engage citizens about the important role trees play to our overall health, economic success and social well being of communities.
Award amounts vary. Eligible applicants are U.S. 501(c)(3) tax exempt public charities.
Deadline: March 1, 2008 (Letter of Intent)
