National Institutes of Health -- School-Based Interventions to Prevent Obesity (R01)

The National Institutes of Health is accepting applications for its School-Based Interventions to Prevent Obesity (R01) grant program. The purpose of this program is to support the formation of partnerships between academic institutions and school systems in order to develop and implement controlled, school-based intervention strategies designed to reduce the prevalence of childhood obesity.

Funding will vary by project; applicants must follow the NIH Research Project Grant (R01) mechanism. Eligible applicants include, but are not limited to, for-profit and nonprofit organizations, public or private institutions, units of state government, and faith-based or community-based organizations.

National Institutes of Health -- School-Based Interventions to Prevent Obesity (R03)

The National Institutes of Health is accepting applications for its School-Based Interventions to Prevent Obesity (R03) grant program. The purpose of this program is to support the formation of partnerships between academic institutions and school systems in order to develop and implement controlled, school-based intervention strategies designed to reduce the prevalence of childhood obesity.

Award amounts will vary; applicants must follow the NIH Small Grant (R03) mechanism and submit budgets for direct costs of up to two $25,000 modules per year for up to two years. Eligible applicants include, but are not limited to, for-profit and nonprofit organizations, public or private institutions, units of state government, and faith-based or community-based organizations.

Deadline: February 16, 2008 (Cycle I)

National Institutes of Health -- School-Based Interventions to Prevent Obesity (R21)

The National Institutes of Health is accepting applications for its School-Based Interventions to Prevent Obesity (R21) grant program. The purpose of this program is to support the formation of partnerships between academic institutions and school systems in order to develop and implement controlled, school-based intervention strategies designed to reduce the prevalence of childhood obesity.

Funding will vary by project; applicants should follow the NIH Exploratory/Developmental Research Grant (R21) mechanism and submit a plan for direct costs in $25,000 modules up to $275,000 over an R21 two-year period with no more than $200,000 in direct costs in any single year. Eligible applicants include, but are not limited to: for-profit and nonprofit organizations, public or private institutions, units of state government, and faith-based or community-based organizations.
