The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration – Drug Free Communities Support Program Grants

The Office of National Drug Policy and the Department of Health and Human Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration announce the availability of funds for the Drug Free Communities Support Program. The main goals of the program are to establish and strengthen collaboration among communities, non-profits and governments to support the efforts of community coalitions to prevent and reduce substance abuse among youth and to address the community factors that increase risk of substance abuse.

An anticipated 130 awards will be granted up to $125,000 per year for up to five years.
Applications must be submitted by community-based coalitions consisting of youth, parents, businesses, media, schools, organizations serving youth, law enforcement, religions or fraternal organizations, civic/volunteer groups, health care professionals, governments, and other organizations involved in reducing substance abuse. The coalition must have worked together for a period of at least 6 months, has its own mission and strategic plan and demonstrate sustainability.
