United States Department of Agriculture, Food and Nutrition Service - Child Care Health and Wellness Grant
The purpose of the Child Care Health and Wellness Grant is to support projects that increase the health and nutrition of children in child care settings. The USDA will give priority to programs that: reflect the recommendations of the most recent version of the Dietary Guidelines for Americans and the most recent scientific knowledge; provide technical assistance and training to child care centers and day care homes in implementing state or local initiatives designed to improve the health and nutrition of children; perform outreach campaigns on the state and local level that are designed to increase access to the program in underserved areas and populations; and make innovative use of technology and education to promote the nutrition, physical activity, and health of children.

Approximately 15 grants totaling $8 million will be awarded. State agencies are eligible to apply.
