The purpose of Capitol CARES Initiative is to provide high quality suicide prevention services for youth ages 10-24 in the District of Columbia. Specifically, this funding opportunity seeks to open dialogue on the issue of suicide prevention by promoting awareness that suicide is preventable, implementing strategies to reduce the stigma associated with mental health services, and supporting research on suicide prevention.

Five awards of up to $7,000 will be granted. Eligible entities must have 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status, be incorporated to operate in the District of Columbia, and must have been providing direct services since no later than October 1, 2009.

Deadline: April 29, 2011
