Building Healthy Communities Grant Program (Michigan)

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, Wayne State University's Center for School Health, and the Michigan Fitness Foundation are inviting Michigan elementary schools to apply for the Building Healthy Communities Grant Program to promote healthy eating and physical activity. The purpose of this funding is to promote lifelong healthy habits among schoolchildren in the state.

Multiple awards of $30,000 will be awarded to select applicants. All public (including charter) and private nonprofit schools in Michigan are eligible to apply. Applicant schools must serve students in at least two of the following three grades: second, third, and fourth. A special focus will be given to schools in the greater southeast Michigan region, as well as schools educating students from low-income communities.

Deadline: March 30, 2012

Please note: The Center for Health and Health Care in Schools (CHHCS) does not administer this funding opportunity.
