The Home Depot Foundation -- Affordable Housing Built Responsibly Grants

Through the Affordable Housing Built Responsibly grant program, the Home Depot Foundation administers grants to nonprofit organizations whose missions align with the Foundation's interests in supporting the production and preservation of affordable, efficient and healthy housing. Preference is given to proposals that include community engagement that result in the production, preservation, or financing of housing units for low- to moderate-income families. The most promising proposals incorporate a number of “green” building design practices. Proposals that clearly demonstrate how urban forestry strategies will be utilized to create healthier, more vibrant communities will have an advantage.

Award amounts vary. Organizations with 501(c)3 tax-exempt status are eligible to apply.

Deadline: March 1, 2009 (Letter of Inquiry)

Please Note: The Center for Health and Health Care in Schools (CHHCS) does not administer this funding opportunity.
