Robert Wood Johnson Foundation – Active Living Research: Investigating Policies and Environments to Support Active Communities

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Active Living Research supports research to identify promising policy and environmental strategies for increasing physical activity, decreasing sedentary behaviors, and preventing obesity in children and adolescents. In particular, the Foundation is looking to reach racial/ethnic populations and children living in lower-income communities who are at highest risk for obesity.

Up to $336,000 will be awarded. Research grants can be up to $75,000 each and publication grants can be up to $12,000 each. Eligible applicants must represent populations that have been historically disadvantaged and underrepresented in research, have completed a doctoral or terminal degree within seven years, demonstrate evidence of research skills, and be affiliated with a university or organization that is tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code.
