Tobacco Companies Urged to Continue Youth Anti-Smoking Campaign 

A nationwide anti-smoking campaign that is credited with reducing youth smoking is in danger of going out of business, but a commission made up of all current and former U.S. Secretaries of Health and Human Services, U.S. Surgeons General, and Directors of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is mounting an intensive effort to keep the program alive.

The Role of School Breakfast in the Federal Safety Net 

A national anti-hunger conference sponsored by the Food Research and Action Center February 27 pointed to school breakfasts as a missing link in the federal government’s efforts to combat nutrition deficiencies.
